Salary tax guide
For salaried persons, Pakistan salary tax is normally calculated on annual taxable salary. The employer then deducts tax through payroll during the year.
A salary tax slab does not usually mean your whole salary is taxed at the highest percentage shown in that slab. Pakistan salaried tax is calculated on annual taxable salary. The formula normally applies fixed tax for the lower portion of income, then charges a percentage only on the amount above the slab threshold.
This is why the calculator asks for monthly salary but converts it into annual salary first. If you receive a taxable bonus, arrears, or cash allowance, that amount can move your annual income into a higher slab even when your regular monthly salary looks unchanged.
If a person earns Rs 250,000 per month, annual taxable salary is Rs 3,000,000 before considering any taxable bonus or allowance. The calculator identifies the relevant annual slab, applies the fixed amount and percentage formula, then divides the annual tax by 12 to show a monthly estimate.
Your employer may deduct a slightly different amount if payroll has already deducted tax in earlier months, if a raise happened mid-year, or if bonus income is paid in one month and spread across the remaining payroll period.
Use the Pakistan salary tax calculator 2025-2026 to estimate annual tax, monthly tax, and net salary.
Tax credits, rebates, surcharge, employer adjustments, non-salary income, and special exemptions can change the final amount. Always check your return or payroll record before filing.
